SINNERS WILL NOT LIKE HEAVEN

What makes sinners think they will be happy in Heaven? If you do not like heavenly things down here on earth, what makes you think you would be happy in Heaven?

The Bible speaks of Heaven – of what is going on up there now and will be throughout eternity. In Heaven they praise God saying: “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created,” (Revelation 4:11). You do not agree down here that all things exist for the glory of God. You may even deny that He is the Creator because you believe in evolution. You do not believe that God is “worthy... to receive glory and honour and power” down here. You will not like it up in Heaven because they praise God in Heaven.

You will not like Heaven not only because of what is said, you will not like the music up there either. Revelation 5:9 says, “And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation.” You love your honky-tonk tunes or you rock music that tickles the flesh. You are going to be miserable in Heaven. You do not like praising God down here and singing of His worthiness and you will be unhappy with the music in Heaven.

Revelation 6:11 tells us how people dress in Heaven. It says, “And white robes were given unto every one of them...” People dress modestly up in Heaven. You do not like modest clothing down here. You do not dress in clothing designed to conceal your body. You dress in clothing designed to reveal your body – to make it attractive to others. You enjoy looking at the bodies of other people. You are not going to like Heaven because clothing up there is modest.

You enjoy sin and you are not going to like eternity whether it be on the new earth or in Heaven because those places are righteous places. Peter wrote: “Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness,” (2 Peter 3:13). Eternity with God would be torture for you! You do not love God or righteousness so why do you want to go to Heaven?

In order to enjoy eternity with God sinners must be made new – born again. Natural born people who remain in that state only – who are not born again – will never enjoy the things of the Spirit of God either down here or in Heaven. “For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit,” (Romans 8:5). “Ye must be born again,” (John 3:7).
